Desktop Support/ Field Services engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Desktop Support/ Field Services engineer to join well established blue chip organisation based at one of their prestigious customer sites in Auckland New Zealand.
As a Desktop support / Field Services you will have :
At least 3 years’ experience in IT
Experience of working onsite at a customer base within an IT Support role.
Experience in Field Services Support
Good knowledge of PC / Server / Network / Printers hardware.
Knowledge of networking architecture
Desktops, Laptops, Servers, Switches and Printers
Routers and Riverbed devices is an advantage
Good knowledge and experience in Microsoft Software / Application.
Good knowledge in OS and application deployment using SCCM.
Knowledge and Experience in POS
Knowledge and Experience in remote desktop support
An understanding of network protocols, server hardware and configurations will be a
distinct advantage as will other IT qualifications.
Excellent customer service skills
As a Desktop Support/ Field Services engineer you will be responsible for:
Responding to allocated customer incidents (hardware, software and connectivity) and
service requests and manage through to a successful resolution within agreed service
Delivering IMAC and desk-side support services to our clients customer in line with
agreed project timescales and service levels
Managing daily IT system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all
hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
Delivering hard and soft break fix services for laptops and desktops across the
customer site portfolio
Providing standard and approved hardware and software (operating systems and
standard office applications) support and maintenance on Desktop Devices for their
entire life cycle (including the remote management of Desktop Devices using
Supporting, managing and maintaining the configuration and installation of the
Desktop, including patch updates and hardware replacements.
Identifing and obtaining from the vendor any spares required to respond to incidents
and ensuring that the customer is kept informed of any resulting delays.
Monitor security profiles and anti-virus software on all Desktop Devices and take
appropriate action in the event of non-compliance with security requirements.
Ensure that each Desktop Device is installed with the appropriate Desktop image
Providing VIP support for Desk side issues
Maintaining a high level of communication at all times with the customer, colleagues
and senior members of staff and provide timely updates to the Service Desk so that
progress against each individual incident can be updated as required.
