Detailed Job Specification:

We have an immediate requirement for a Software Licence Administrator, you will need to hold SC Level Security Clearance for this role. The role is based near Reading, Berkshire. 

Purpose of the role 

We are looking for customer-focused and enthusiastic Administrator to join the Software Licence Administration Team. 

 

The License Administration Team is responsible for administrative support duties relating to IT software licence management and software purchasing. This includes supporting the discovery and packaging processes, releasing licences for deployment, and monitoring & recording software license usage to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. 

 

The candidate must be prepared to work on a nuclear licensed site and be prepared to undergo DV clearance 

 

Job specification: 

• Ensure relevant Service Now queues are monitored and responded to within OLA’s and SLA’s 

• Manage requests through their lifecycle, updating records and liaising with the customer and their 3rd parties, and other on-site support teams 

• Initiate Software Discovery process, Software Approval process and Discovery process for software packaging 

• Obtain software quotations for customers, work with the onsite Software Asset Management Team 

• Liaise with vendor regarding license conditions and terms of use 

• Determine appropriate license for customer (networked or standalone systems, and operating systems) 

• Perform administration activities which ensure compliance of licensing regulations e.g. Create/request licenses, upgrade licenses, transfer license between assets, license activation/registration 

• Manage new software deployment requests through the approval processes 

• Communicate licence availability and source additional licences from 3rd party supplier 

• Ensure authorised instances for deployed software never exceed customers licensed rights 

• Assist with customer projects on an ad-hoc basis 

• Download media and maintain the media library 

• Highlight changes to processes or errors to the process owners. Maintain own process and working instruction documents

• Demonstrate the ability to methodically work through issues 

• Identify issues end users might be facing and drive improvement and simplifications to help end user process 

• Maintain good working relationship with key stakeholders and support teams 

• Must be able to deal directly with clients in a friendly and highly confident manner demonstrating excellent internal and external customer communication skills 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a genuine enthusiasm towards IT service management

Desired Skills and Experience: 

• ServiceNow 

• HP Service Manager 

• HP Asset Manager 

• ITIL Foundation 

• Microsoft, Adobe or any other vendor license management certification
